                             NOELLE LORRAINE WILLIAMS

Noelle Lorraine Williams is an artist whose life's work exemplifies her continued interest in engaging people in conversations using art, history and contemporary culture, as well as writing about the ongoing spiritual crisis in the United States.

Artist: Noelle Lorraine Williams

Writing, bead making and stringing.

Goal: To create a portal composed of memories of home to conceptualize how each individual contributes and is significant.

We are all members of this world community.

The earth, this country, this city, everywhere is our home. We all contribute and have a responsibility to making the world a safe, happy and healthy place for one and another.

Art is a part of everything we do in creating home. Our clothing, the way we speak, our flags, how we prepare food, dancing, even how we play, is an art.

This exercise uses our memories of home to create a home space or portal for ourselves and our community.

Please read the three poems by the original poet who wrote it Georgia Ella Lyon  (this poem is adapted from her by Levi Romero and others) and two youth poets.

Use the distributed template to write your poem about home.

Please use rich detail in describing “Home” (What does it feel like, smell like and taste like?)
